New Class Schedule, and new software classes!

Hello again! Well, it's been busy here in the computer learning lab. We saw ALL CLASSES for the Fall 2008 schedule (Oct - Dec) actually fill and close by the first week of November! Among other things, this demonstrates a continuing and growing need for these classes!

Keep your eye out for the Winter 2009 schedule, which will cover the months of January through March 2009. I expect to have that schedule ready for the week of December 15th. In that schedule, we will again be offering classes in basic computer use (Introduction to Computers Level 1 & 2, and Internet Basics Level 1 & 2). We will also continue offering classes in MS Office software (version 2003): Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Please refer to the Library Events link on the Lackawanna County Library System homepage or the printed schedules available @ all public libraries in the Northeastern Library District for info on each class & software package.

Software Classes Begin again in August!

The MS Word & Excel classes (version 2003) begin again next week. Classes in each program are offered on alternate weeks, with classes on Tuesdays (1 - 3PM), Wednesdays (5:30 - 7:30PM), and Thursdays (10AM - 12PM). Additionally, Word classes will be held on Saturdays from 10AM - 12PM beginning on August 30th.
For each program, there will be a total of six classes, covering very basic (navigating through a document or worksheet, entering text & data) through more advanced material (creating, running, and editing macros, mail merging, advanced sorting and filtering of data). Word Beginning Level 1 classes will begin the week of August 4th - 9th.
Pre-registration with a valid Lackawanna County Public Library card is required for all classes. Please call for class availability & additional information.
